REAL MAIL FRIDAYS
MAY'S IN-HOUSE plus ZOOM SOCIAL
Friday May 3, 2024
2 to 5 PM in JCBA's Book Arts Gallery and,
for the rest of the world, on Zoom

Each First Friday of the month we welcome you for Real Mail Fridays both in-house, at the Jaffe Book Arts Gallery, plus online, via JCBA Zoom, all at the same time. Our next hybrid gathering is Friday, May 3.

Joining us online via JCBA Zoom?

CLICK HERE to join us. Come when you can and leave when you must, between 2 and 5 PM Eastern.

Joining us in-house?

We'll supply the gathering spot and some simple art supplies (like papers & rubber stamps & inks) and, of course, a Very Jaffe Soundtrack. Bring any special cards and supplies you wish and bring your own postage stamps. You may bring coffee and tea and water (but no other food and no sodas, please). Donations in support of the Jaffe Center for Book Arts are welcome but not expected. Come when you can and leave when you must; we're open for you from 2 to 5 PM.

The Jaffe Center for Book Arts is located on the third floor east of Florida Atlantic University's Wimberly Library. FAU staff and students will need their Owl Card to enter the library. Visitors will need to wave at the front desk librarians and ask them to let you in.

DIRECTIONS

N.B.: There is no visitor parking in the neighboring parking garage (see parking info below). Mind your speed! FAU Police strictly enforce the 25 MPH speed limit.

The FAU campus is located on Glades Road, just east of I-95. If you enter at FAU's main entrance (the first one you'll see approaching from I-95 or the turnpike), you will enter on West University Drive. Continue straight on West University Drive to the traffic light at its intersection with Volusia Street. Turn right onto Volusia. The Wimberly Library is the building east of the parking garage.

The I-95 interchange for Florida Atlantic University (Exit 48A) takes you directly from the interstate to FAU. Once you pass the traffic light at Spanish River Boulevard, you are on campus on FAU Boulevard. Continue to the traffic signal at the intersection of FAU Boulevard and University Drive (FAU Stadium will be on your right). Turn right onto University Drive. Turn left at the traffic signal at Volusia Street. The Wimberly Library is the building east of the parking garage.

PARKING

Visitor Parking is available at the metered spaces in the library parking lot; there are “metered parking” signs posted at the head of these parking spaces. The meter system accepts payment with cash or credit card at the rate of $2.50 per hour.

* Please note that as we navigate into a new version of in-house Real Mail Fridays Socials, JCBA will no longer be providing postage stamps nor serving food and beverages. You are welcome to bring your own postage stamps, and you are welcome to bring your own simple beverage to enjoy. Food will no longer be permitted inside the Book Arts Gallery. Please understand that JCBA is conforming to long standing library and university policies. The library policy prohibits food in collections areas, and the university policy prohibits us from serving food and beverages that are not supplied by the university's food service provider. Using that provider, however, would make the cost of Real Mail Fridays prohibitively expensive. Since we are no longer providing these things, donations for attending in-house Real Mail Fridays are no longer expected. They are, however, always appreciated. Thank you for your understanding and your support!

LOVE JCBA PROGRAMS?

JCBA programs are all brought to you by you. Please support us if you can with a tax-deductible gift. At our donation portal, you may make a gift to the Jaffe Support Fund, which helps us acquire new artists' books and prints for the Jaffe Collection, or the Jaffe Center for Book Arts Education Fund, which supports all of our educational programs. Thank you!
